Kari O'Connell - Co-Principal Investigator
Kari O’Connell (Co-I) is a senior researcher with Oregon State University’s Center for Research in Lifelong STEM Learning. She also holds affiliate faculty appointments in the College of Forestry, the College of Education, and the Environmental Arts and Humanities Program at OSU. She has focused her career on scientist outreach to public audiences, first as a forest ecologist engaged in outreach herself, next as Director of the H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest where she coordinated the research and education programs, and then with a faculty position in Forestry and Natural Resources Extension. Kari’s research interests include scientist engagement with public audiences, ecological data literacy of K-12 teachers and students, art-science collaborations, and the undergraduate field experience.
